Meet Brandy, My Chatbot Assistant
I turned my resume into an IBM Watson chatbot: the average resume gets six seconds, I wanted fifteen minutes. The original Brandy — she's come a long way since.
Meet Brandy, My Chatbot Assistant!
For the past couple of months, I have been playing around with IBM Watson Assistant. Watson Assistant is a program that allows you to create incredible NLP chatbot assistants for free. For my first project, I decided to turn my resume into an interactive chatbot experience. So far, I have loved the results, and now I want to share the project with you!
📑 - As my first major project, I wanted to recreate my resume in chatbot form. So I broke down my resume into the key areas that recruiters would likely want to know about. The chatbot needed to be able to talk about my project management experience, leadership experience, past products, and my strengths and weaknesses, certificates, and more.
📞 - It would need to be fun and interactive. I want people to want to talk to my chatbot so that they spend more time learning about me and the work I have done. The average resume only gets 6 seconds; I want 15 minutes!
📢 - Brandy would need to be a hypeman highlighting why I would be a good fit for the specific companies. I.e., I wanted recruiters from Google, Microsoft, IBM, and other large tech companies to have a tailored dialog experience.
🤖 – Most importantly, I wanted the chatbot to be a foundation to build future iterations of chatbots. I wanted the chatbot to be an evergreen project that gets better each year.
The Product
👩💼 - Introducing Brandy, Brandy is my chatbot assistant who greets people who enter my website, LinkedIn, or click the link in my email footer. She can answer questions about my resume and highlight my strengths; Brandy can even set up meetings.
💎 - So fair, people (more importantly, recruiters) have loved talking to Brandy and find her a novel demonstration of my skills, creativity, and interest in Ai. Which has led to more interviews, follow-ups, and offers!
🏞 – As we advance, I will continue to add to Brandy's capabilities by adding more useful features, such as book recommendations, email answering capabilities, and more! I am excited to see what Brandy evolves into over the coming months and years.
In the comments, tell me: "If you had a chatbot assistant, what would you want it to do?"
